My uncle was with the Massachusetts Air National Guard in the early 60s. He was based out of Otis Air Force base. One summer, while on vacation in Cape Cod, he was able to get us admitted to the field for the arrival of the president. This was still when they rolled the steps up to the side of the plane, so we had a clear view of JFK and Jackie as they got off the plane. Can still picture it over 50 years later.
